Belmont Park — Location & Map

🌳 Belmont Park is a public park in the Newtown area of Exeter, just north-east of the city centre. The park first opened to the public in 1886 as a children's play area before being enlarged for wider public use. Today, it provides open green space within the surrounding residential neighbourhood and is a useful local destination for recreation, play and getting outdoors.

Also known as Belmont Pleasure Grounds, the park is surrounded by Belmont Road, Blackboy Road, Gordon Road, Jesmond Road, Grosvenor Place and Clifton Hill. Its location makes it easy to combine a visit with exploring the surrounding Newtown and Heavitree areas, while its long history gives Belmont Park a place in Exeter's Victorian park heritage.
