Photo for the Day – Where are we?
The Little Queen – A lot of us tend to walk around doing our daily chores and going about our business without really noticing some of the monument, statues and sculptures that are so numerous in the city of Exeter.
Have you ever walked down Queen Street, looked up and noticed just some of these artefacts. A great example is Queen Victoria standing high up on top of the Marks and Spencer building. Also on the same building are the Lion and the Unicorn. These are above the side entrance to the store.
There are many more interesting buildings and artwork nearby however, the photograph for the day that asks ‘Where are we’ relates to The Little Queen on the corner of Little Queen Street and Queen Street.
Coming from the High Street you’ll notice this statue on the right-hand side just as you cross the side street (Little Queen Street) above a lion’s head.
