Exeter Clock Tower

Archived from the blog ‘Image of Exeter’

I have used the Clock Tower in Exeter to give directions to tourists and visitors to Exeter more times than I can remember. This particularly to people arriving at Exeter St David’s railway station wanting to get to the city centre:

Turn right at the statue with the man on the horse and then right again on the roundabout with the big clock in the middle – the Exeter Clock Tower

Exeter Clock Tower

The Clock Tower was opened in 1897 by Louisa Miles in memory of her husband William Miles who had originally placed a horses drinking fountain there. A fountain still remain today but below this much more prominent Clock Tower.
